The Black American Cowboy
The Black American Cowboy is part of the Heritage Collection. Jacobs shares her Black American heritage as a series dedicated to the Black American Cowboy. Research shows that 25 to 30 percent of American Cowboys were Black American. The artist finds comfort and a sense of home when reflecting on the history of the Black American Cowboy. She is currently working on a portrait of William Whayne also known as Humpty Whayne who represents Oklahoma in The American Rodeo.
